Daddy, make a picture

Mark your calendars.. today is my official first day as a Stay At Home Dad.

10:45 Sue leaves for the office
10:46 Daddy gets the portable gate from the garage and blocks off the family room to keep the dog out and the kids in
10:50 first viewing of Baby Newton
11:15 Daddy starts preparing lunch. Avacado, kiwi, string cheese and some yogurt. J reports he wants ‘nothing’ for lunch
11:30 lunch. very messy. J wants ’snack’ for lunch. Daddy doesn’t buy it.
11:55 lunch concludes. S loudly reports she is tired and needs to be walked
11:56 S falls asleep. Daddy asks J to watch L and takes S to her crib
11:58 S asleep in crib. J and L playing nicely. Daddy feels false sense of euphoria and accomplishment.
12:00-12:25 change L’s diaper. change J’s diaper. L gets fussy. walk L to sleep. J lying on floor staring at ceiling. Daddy breaths sigh of relief.
12:45 making mac and cheese. if J doesn’t want it I’m sure it won’t go to waste.
1:00 S and L awake. J eating mac and cheese. Next on the agenda, gather socks and shoes and go for a walk!
1:10-1:45 WALK!
1:50 back at home…some back deck time and diaper changing for S
2:00 Sue calls… is about to leave should be home in an hour or so
2:15 S is fussy, J won’t come inside, L is laying on floor with her face to the carpet
2:20 SNACK TIME! all is well
2:40 S loudly announces the end of snack time. S walked to sleep.
2:50 S sleeping. time to change L’s diaper again.
2:51 mysterious sounds from upstairs.. S is awake!
3:00 S and L watching Baby Shakespeare. J inside eating a cookie. Calm prevails. All is well.
3:15 Mommy returns.
