I’m thinking about working on this design… honest
For some strange inexplicable reason, my daughters are often soothed to sleep by the sounds of late-70s / early-80s New Wave bands. It all started when they were newborns and I would walk them to sleep to The Style Council.
Right now S is grooving to Altered Images. Someone tell me, do they make Joy Division tee-shirts in infant sizes?
One time, oh, when my daughter was about 6…she found a whole bunch of old cassettes of mine downstairs in storage. She plopped them into her little stereo and began listening to them….I didn’t know what she was doing. Finally she comes running to me, “Dad, Dad, you have to hear these songs! they are the best!”
She was listening to Dylan doing ‘Blowing in the Wind’, plus some other old hippi stuff of mine.
I was beaming proud, “That’s my girl!”
J’s babysitter told me he was bopping around in his car seat last week listening to ‘London Calling’….
*sniff*… I’m so proud.
