I’m thinking about working on this design… honest
We went to Playzone all the way up in Brewster today. It’s rainy and cold and I didn’t feel like sitting in the house all day. So anyway…
The girls love the ballpit. I mean I could have left them there all day and they would have been fine. Except for the fact that there was this fat kid — we’re not talking obese here, we’re talking Jenny Jones ‘My kid’s fat and I don’t care’ fat. We’re talking ‘Dr. Phil, help my kid lose weight’ fat — sitting in the ball pit throwing balls at other kids and laughing maniacally.
Now I’m not one for mocking the shortcomings of others, especially fat kids (disclaimer…. I’m a fairly overweight adult) merely for effect and for a more entertaining Web log. No, the fact of the kid’s weight issues is important. Because almost immediately I got to meet Mommy and discover exactly why Little Gustavus has a weight problem as well as control issues.
Mommy ran over and said ‘Now now Gustavus (not his real name), that’s not nice is it? Now come out of there and help Mommy put these balls back in the pit and you’ll get a yummy treat.’
To add insult to injury (and make this an even more entertaining tale of bad parenting) after Junior got out of the pit and started collecting the colored plastic balls, Mommy started tossing them back into the pit. At my daughters. And then Junior started throwing them at my daughters. And Mommy said ‘Very nice Gustavus, now you can have a yummy treat.’
