Happy Halloweenie!

Sue is out with J and L and some friends at our town’s annual Halloween Parade. S is taking a late nap so here I sit at the kitchen with only a PowerBook, a cup of coffee and my copy of Learning Perl to keep me company.
So far no knocks at the door and […]

lights!

We had a beautiful Northern Lights display last night. I dragged J out into the backyard to show him. I don’t think he really had any idea what I was babbling about but it was special nonetheless.
Maybe someday he’ll remember the night his daddy dragged him outside in his PJs and babbled about things […]

wonder of wonders

Last February I met with a PR agency in Stamford, about twenty minutes or so from our house. The owner of the firm made some vague suggestions that an offer was about to come and then nothing.
So this past Wednesday he calls out of the blue and asks me what I’m up to and […]

While the sun did rise over New York this morning, it’s going to be an interesting off-season. I’d bet the house that David Wells never pitches in pinstripes again.
I’ll leave the pinstripes theme up for a day or two. It’s still too early.

Finally… we can read in bed.

well, I’m back

The floor is mostly done and the furniture has been moved back so we came home a day early.
Now if the TV holds out long enough I’ll be able to watch the Yankees stomp the bejesus out of the Marlins. Or something.
Speaking of weird, has anyone else noticed that Jeff of the Wiggles has […]

my girls rock

Daddy is such a shopping bitch.
We were at the Danbury Fair Mall yesterday. $60 worth of fleecy pullovers, a funky sweater and a skeleton shirt for J. They are going to be such the bomb at Mother Goose this morning.

Remember our problems with J’s nursery school last year?
To recap (if you’re too lazy to follow the link), he’s small and young for his age, he’s not very social, he does the sort of things that are natural for a boy his age which just so happen to be the things that drive teachers […]

We have a formerly lovely white carpet - now dingy and gray and stained with dog pee and various other fluids - that runs through our living room and dining room. In theory (note I say in theory) there’s hard wood underneath and all we have to do is have the carpet pulled up and […]
