Tomorrow is travel day. I’ve been informed Harry (my grandfather) is very tired and weak but relatively aware of what’s going on around him, which is a good sign.

What’s hard about this — well, among all the other things that are hard about this — is that until recently he was quite well preserved for a man approaching his 100th birthday. It’s almost been taken as an article of faith in my family that he would reach 100.

He’s quite a fighter and quite a feisty SOB.
