Here I sit… at Starbucks in the middle of the day. Getting a little moonlighting done that I can’t do on company time, enjoying the WiFi access, sipping a very nice decaf venti….

Wouldn’t I rather be at a locally owned coffee shop? One with a bit of authentic character as opposed to the store-bought authenticity for sale here at $tarbucks?

Sure I would.

Now if only someone can point me to a locally owned coffee shop that offers decent coffee, some semblance of atmosphere and reasonably dependable WiFi access, I’d be there in a minute.

And don’t give me the arguement that $tarfucks drove them out of business… all this company did was establish the market for the high-end coffee lifestyle. Any entrepreneur with half a brain can open a decent coffee shop and make it as inviting as your living room.
