Romantic getaways

We were going to stay here for my birthday but unfortunately I had the misfortune of being born over Memorial Day weekend…. so instead we’re putting that romantic weekend off until our Anniversary (Labor Day weekend - duh).

We’re staying in the City (New York City to those of you not from the tri-state area) instead.

Now playing: On The Run from the album Mind If We Make Love To You by Wondermints

Zounds. That looks amazing. I’ve always thought the Hudson Valley/Catskills seemed like a nice place to visit/live. I will somewhat sheepishly admit that the extent of my experience with upstate NY is, erm, Buffalo. :-P

I thought New York City was always The City, regardless of where you are in the Western Hemisphere. (In Europe, I think it’s a small part of London where financial types eat lunch. ;-)

Wow. You would have been miserable there. Better to just book a room at the Motel Six and eat Spam. Is there anything more romantic than that?

    Good song, by the way.

The 16th was my birthday too. My husband and I managed to sneak away (alone) for our first meal at Pleasantville’s Iron Horse Grill, followed by a movie at the Burns. I’d sort of forgotten what it was like to talk to him uninterrupted.
