I’m thinking about working on this design… honest
My Grandfather, Harry Bereck, passed away this morning.
He was 99 years and seven months old. He did pretty much everything anyone who lived through the past century could do - he road the rails in the Depression, built ships for the Navy in WWII, lived in Miami in the 20s, worked construction in New York City in the 30s through the 70s, knew gangsters and politicians and most importantly of all had two daughters, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
When I was my son’s age, I really believed that he personally built every building in Manhattan. I guess I still believe that.
A tip of the hat to Harry. Sounded like he was one of a kind.
I’m so sorry to hear about that.
Blessings to you and your family. It’s hard to lose a loved one at anytime in their life— but sometimes knowing their legacy is enough to sustain you through your grief. When my grandmother passed away last year, I created a scrapbook of her legacy— pictures and notes from her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. It was a fitting tribute.
Indeed, hats off. Sounds like he was a remarkable guy.
I am so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a great guy. You got a history lesson from
an awesome teacher. You are very lucky.
