Heartfelt?? How about shockingly unprepared, completely unaware of his own administration’s policies towards Iran and North Korea not to mention unable to fill even 30 seconds of response time with an articulate thought?
I don’t believe there is such thing as an udecided voter. Uneducated maybe, but don’t make that the candidate’s fault. They’ve both articulated their positions - Bush with four years of action and Kerry with a series of well thought out policy positions you can read about on his campaign web site, as well as a 20 year record in the Senate.
If you can’t take the time to do a little reading … and it really is very easy folks … then you don’t deserve the right to fault the candidates for not telling you where they stand.
Oh and Susan Connery Bruno…. if what you want is ‘heartfelt’ platitudes… well then you get what you deserve.

Oh I think he was heartfelt in repeating the same, well-rehearsed talking points over and over again. Kerry said, Wrong war, wrong place, wrong time.™ We need a leader with consistent core values. And, my personal favorite phrase of the night, mixed messages. What was in between those statements? Not a lot.
I thought Kerry seemed very relaxed and attentive. And he clarified his position rather well. The only thing I wish he would have done is better explain the difference between changing your core values and changing your opinion when you have more information. He touched on it, but he really should have hammered it home.
My favorite Bush quote of the night, The way to win this is to be steadfast and resolved and to follow through on the plan that I™ve just outlined. Um . . . maybe I missed something, but what was that plan exactly? Train the Iraqis to protect themselves and hold an election? Is that his full plan? That™s his grand plan for stability?
