Can you believe for a $29 radio the cashierbot at Radio Shack tried to sell me a warranty?
J and I just spent a lovely few moments huddled under his blanket … pulled in the BBC, China (”what’s that lady saying, daddy?”) and some cool music from the Andes. Not bad for his first go-round with shortwave radio.
Then mommy came in and told us it was bed time. Drats!
$29? Along with your story, I’m sold. The girls need shortwave. I mean, it’s not like it’s for me or anything. No. Purely for the joy of my children.
Of course, add it to our weekend telescope adventures and it looks like I’m raising Chess Club members.
