If Robert Scoble is killing traditional PR, than it couldn’t have been done by a nicer guy.
Some of the people I’ve worked with over the years have been pretty nasty. Some have been so nasty to the point of my not even wanting to be in the same room, let alone working on the same account with them. In fact I’m pretty sure at one point in the history of PR, being an asshole was held in high esteem. It was a badge of honor to have caused tears among the junior staff.
By contrast, the people who are at the forefront of the new PR – and they know who they are – are some of the nicest people I’ve ever wanted to work with or for. Friendly and open to a fault, they’ll all stop at nothing to help a fellow practitioner out. Maybe that’s another one of the positive changes that blogging is bring to the industry.
