I’m thrilled, delighted, etc., to announce my newest client – Backbeat Media (
21). Thrilled for a number of reasons not the least of which that Dave Hamilton, one of the cofounders of the company, is a good friend and daddy to two of my kids’ best friends as well.
Backbeat Media was working the Long Tail (
133) long before it was even called the Long Tail (
38). Dave and his partner Greg Snyder started Backbeat Media in 2000 when they realized their Mac (
2790) -focused web site want’t getting the service they needed from Internet ad-serving businesses. So they went out and started their own ad serving business which has grown to include nine community sites and we’ll shortly be anouncing more.
In short what they do is help major advertisers reach an audience of hard-core, brand-loyal and highly motivated gadget and Mac-freaks who have money and are willing to spend it on the latest and greatest.
I’m also going to be helping Dave increase the visibility of their main property The Mac Observer (
2790), a user-focused news and community site for, you guessed it, Mac fanatics. The site has an excellent stable of writers and contributers and I’ll be working with them to get the word out to the proverbial thought leaders, other writers and the technorati at large.
