the little trade show that could

My first reaction on arrival was to see if I actually could lay down on the floor in middle of the show floor. I couldn’t but it was fun to speculate.

I was actually inclined to agree with the assessment offered by TUAW.com’s Scott McNulty. Sure this is my first MacWorld, but do they all suck this much? It’s weird to show up at a trade show called MacWorld with no representation – official or otherwise – from Apple Computers. That’s pretty obvious to everyone and has been discussed pretty much everywhere.

But without the 800 pound gorilla to steal the spotlight, this place is starting to have the feel of a MUG meeting circa 1992. I’m expecting anyone to whip out a soldering iron and start ‘fixing’ the motherboard on a Lisa.

So there are a lot of old-school Mac Geeks here from the East Coast capital of Mac Geekdom. And I’m sitting right across from the team from MacTeens Magazine, who seem to be having the time of their lives.

All is well in Geekdom.
