It's a leap of reality, like going to the movies. False marketing creates meaning, excitement, connectivity, etc., to the life experience of some individuals. Witness Bubba Gump products - a double indirection of reality. It's still on supermarket shelves, so someone's buying it - literally and figuratively. When I asked the waitress at the one in Stamford if there is any 'relationship' she got very quiet and whispered to me that they aren't supposed to admit that they are a chain.
