Six Apart’s problems are getting bigger than a spat at LesBlogs.
They’ve grown bigger and bigger and their high profile means TypePad’s frequent dirtnaps have moved beyond the echo chamber and are now all over the pages of Forbes.
This is just the latest in a long string of questionable moves and even more questionable reactions the once golden kids of the blogosphere have made since launching TypePad. I won’t recount them all here – I switched to WordPress as soon as I heard that as a MT 3.0 beta tester I would have to pay the new licensing fee if I ever wanted to see my blog again.
What’s really bizare is how Six Apart still has it’s defenders in the blogosphere. People, including one self-described ‘prominent blogger,’ who haven’t had access to their blogs for days, who have lost entries and will never see them again, are still singing the praises.
It’s true what they say about the Kool Aid. It tastes real good until it’s time to lay down and … well, you know how it ends.
Om Malik has the latest with some good links to other opinions and sources. But I’m with Jeremy. I still have access to my blog. Do you?
