More tales of PR gone horribly wrong

Two this time.

Cory Doctorow gets a nastygram from Dennis Zhidkov of malware maker Star Force, who sounds like the Worst PR Person In The World(tm) and Merlin Mann tells PR people, enough is enough.

What both stories share in common is completely misguided attempts to pitch or otherwise use some PR Jedi Mind Trick on the poor unsuspecting bloggers, who the PR bots must assume is a helpless nobody.

Memo to self: You can make a lot of money teaching PR people how to get along with bloggers. If anyone’s interested, you know where to find me.

A year of living dangerously

As I’m coming up on one years since my ejection from the agency world (hint, rhymes with Gin and Tonics) into the fun filled world of the freelancer / consultant / guy at Starbucks typing away, the great and wise Kathy Sierra chimes in with advice for the risk adverse and the leafs they manage.

Technorati dharma blues

Miss Rouge is waiting for a Technorati update to her numbers and I’m waiting for one for mine.

It seems that as many new links as I get, the total number hasn’t changed in weeks.

At times like this it’s important to remember the objective self is an illusion.
