the inevitable

Eric Schwartzman makes a great analogy based on viewing a production of Chekov’s The Cherry Orchard. Go read it, I don’t need to recap.

Most of the marketing people I used to work with viewed the Internet as this thing that other people worried about – the IT department, the ‘kids,’ the rabble rousers and early adopters. Sure, someone’s trashing our brand on a blog, but it’s just the Internet. No one cares about that.

Until that blog is the number two entry on Google for your brand. And your web site is number three.
