They can’t hurt you

In trying to position the upcoming conference on blogging, social media and the rest and how it fits into the enterprise, Anil Dash’s don’t-fear-the-blogs post came up. He’s right. Too often the question “why blog” is answered with horror stories about companies ignoring blogs and finding their mommies tied up in the trunks of cars and their sales teams crying under their desks.

The bottom line is, if you’re trying to convince your boss to start trying blogs, or you have a client that you know would be a perfect candidate for using a blog, don’t start preaching about the scary stuff. Just let them know blogs are safe, and that there’s plenty of examples of the tangible and intangible benefits that businesses can get by embracing them.

Exactly.

And that’s the story we’ll be telling on June 13 in Stamford, CT.
