Update: From Valorie Luther, a cautionary tale and perfect example of the power of blogging. Seems she was approached by a PR pro who wanted to chat about working together. It seems she also got a bad vibe from the guy’s blog – that it was directionless and gave one the impression that he wasn’t all that enthusiastic about what he does.
Blogs are the new calling card. That’s what I tell anyone who asks me ‘why blog’ for professional reasons. When I’m asked for a resume, I point to my blog. It stands for what I’m about and if you can’t get that, there’s really no reason for us to work together.
So what happened to Valorie and her PR pro? He set up a meeting with her and never showed up. Good thing for him that Valorie has some class and isn’t naming names.
