Cluetraining the PR industry

breakfast at PAN

I spent four hours on Friday with the good folks at PAN Communications in Andover, MA. We did the whole social media bootcamp thing – including watching Ze Frank, looking at the back end of my blog and toying around in YouTube.

The PAN folks are an enthusiastic bunch. They get the listening part, as in it’s just as important to listen as it is to talk.

Despite all the stuff that’s been said by certain bloggers about the PR industry, I continue to be amazed by how many agency people really understand this stuff and are really making the effort to do it right.

  • I'm starting to do these type of introductory sessions internally, just sitting down with creatives etc and talking through what is happening. It's a great reminder that very few people live online in the same way that you do..and I get plenty of practice explaining these things to family.
  • Outstanding session. The staff gave you five of five bagels for content, presentation, value, engagement and "being able to capture an audience of A-type personalities on a Friday morning."

If other agencies need a deep dive on social media and its intersection with marketing/PR, do yourselves a favor and give Dave a call.

Thanks again for making the trip up, Dave!
