Just wondering

How you can call it “Meet the Disruptors of Marketing, Advertising, Branding, and PR” and not have any one of those in the program.

Update: Here’s one.  I stand corrected.

Cluetraining the PR industry

breakfast at PAN

DSC_0075.JPG, originally uploaded by david parmet.

I spent four hours on Friday with the good folks at PAN Communications in Andover, MA. We did the whole social media bootcamp thing – including watching Ze Frank, looking at the back end of my blog and toying around in YouTube.

The PAN folks are an enthusiastic bunch. They get the listening part, as in it’s just as important to listen as it is to talk.

Despite all the stuff that’s been said by certain bloggers about the PR industry, I continue to be amazed by how many agency people really understand this stuff and are really making the effort to do it right.

The final word

“…You see, if you go like him all the time you’ll finally get it.”

“Get what?”

“IT! IT! I’ll tell you – now no time, we have no time now.”

Dead trees update

For those who still read those magazine things, an article by yours truly on the topic of radio in Bermuda is in the current issue of Monitoring Times, the official magazine of shortwave, scanning and ham geeks the world over.

It’s not on the web site yet but I’ll put an update as soon as it’s there. In the meantime, you can all fork out the $5.95.
