I have quoted this line from David Weinbergers speech at least 100 times since I heard it last week. Do you think if I say it enough, corporate communicators will believe it?
There were several profound thoughts from this conference. The one that sticks out most to me also came from David Weinberger:
The cost of failure has gone way down.
This resonates for those of us in corporate communication. How much ROI do you really need if a blog costs you only $5 a month? And the "cost" that is declining isn't just in dollars. An error in your article about the quarterly financial report? Fix it now and you're golden for your online audience. But you'll have to fret about the folks who have hard copies of the weekly newsletter. A correction next week won't reach all of them....
