Goodbye Las Vegas

istockphoto_898165_glitzy_las_vegas_sign_with_clipping_path.jpgWell it’s been a heck of a week. Not only did I get to teach, but I learned a lot as well. Specifically:

  • I’ve been out of the big corporate environment for too long. There are things happening there and I need to learn more about them,
  • If the increase of over 100% over last years New Communications Forum is any indication, the world of corporate marketing is not only catching on but starting to play with some of these tools,
  • Cafe De Luxe in the Venetian has a line to get in even when half the tables in the restaurant are empty,
  • Phantom of the Opera might possibly be the most annoying musical on Earth, even more than High School Musical,
  • If a band in a casino lobby starts to play Bohemian Rhapsody, run.

Kami, and others, have correctly pointed out that the male / female ratio of speakers was a bit skewed in the direction of us primates. So while no one has told me if I’m putting together a panel for the next one (hint, Jen, hint…) I’ll definitely be looking outside the usual suspects for panelists.

  • I was just pandering :-) But it was great to meet you in person, and your better half.
