Heading home

If as Kathy Sierra noted, I need to be grateful to my readers, after yesterday’s panel I owe a great deal of graditude to my panelists - Kathy, Hugh and Gabe, and more importantly to our wonderful audience.

The sign of a good panel is the audience keeps it in the room long after the formal proceedings are done. I found myself at 6:30 - a half hour after we concluded - still trying to get back to my hotel room.

There’s some honestly flattering reaction here, here and here.

The fun continued late into the night and at some point after midnight I left the blip.tv / Laughing Squid gathering - which Brian refered to as the who’s who of web ap geeks - to get some sleep.

Goodbye Austin, it’s been a blast. Next year I have I’m going to stick around and enjoy this wonderful city a bit more.

I’ve just been reading all the articles available about the SXSW Global Microbrands event. The power and virtues of Global Microbrands is not original, and something that I and most people and felt before, but never articulated it. It is so awesome how you and the other panelist have managed to distill all of wisdom and the secret sauces of why and how to build one. Excellent work.
