It’s just like cash

Last week we did the back to school shopping at Kohl’s and in addition to a pile of stuff they are bound to outgrow in a month, and another few hundred on our Amex bill, we got $70 in ‘Kohl’s Cash’ which the cashier assured us was ‘as good as cash.’

Provided of course that you only ever plan on shopping at Kohl’s.

It is with this in mind that I approach (with mixed feelings) Steve Jobs’ offer of $100 in Apple Cash to sooth the hurt feelings of us, the Apple Faithful who adopted early and paid a premium.

The fact that Kohl’s and Apple are appearing in the same blog post does not bode well for the Apple brand.

I’ll take the offer, thank you very much, but like Dave Winer, I wonder if they could throw in a shirt to restore a bit of that luster I felt as an early adopter.

  • I'm trying to find out all the details of the "cash" - not because I got an iPhone (can't stand Cingular/AT&T's lack of signal in large parts of our fair city) but because I know several folks who do - and have already dumped money into their accessories. I need a laptop, they have Apple Cash they don't want to use..... Pinky, are you thinking what I'm thinking? ;)
