That’s how many votes I got. Which in a normal election in this town might be enough to get elected but the folks who take note of these things tell me this year’s turn out was big. Bigger than even the most recent presidential elections.
So I won’t be looking at color swatches for my new office in the Town Hall anytime soon.
I learned a lot from the experience. It’s a lot harder for PR people to be the story than it is for us to push the story. In my case, seeing my name in the local paper – week after week – in good light and in bad was an eye opener. So I won’t be so glib when I push my clients into the limelight if that isn’t where they want to go. Because I’ve been there and it’s pretty uncomfortable sometimes.
Anyway. Back to my real job.
