There’s no press like local press and for our newest client, FetchDog, a hit in the Portland Press Herald is good news.
Launched this month, the Portland-based Web site is a mash-up of online shopping and social networking that lets dog owners post photos of their dog, ask for advice on training their dog, and buy leashes and treats to complete the process.
Fetchdog is only the latest company to dive into the fast-growing pet products market, which had estimated sales of more than $9 billion in 2006 for non-food items, according to industry tracking firm Packaged Facts.In creating an online community Fetchdog is also capitalizing on the tools that have made social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace popular online destinations.
