Home At Last

I arrived home close to midnight last night, caught up on some email and crashed for the night. Woke up with The Twin Princesses waiting patiently for their ‘daddy was away’ gifts. Good thing the Orlando Airport has a Disney store.

Somewhere over North Carolina I made the decision to cancel several upcoming speaking gigs and curtail travel for the time being. I’m finding the returns on most conferences to be diminishing far too quickly (excepting BlogOrlando of course). The questions are all the same, the conversations are all repeating themselves.

BlogOrlando is an exception because Josh makes a real effort to shake up the format and make it new every year. There are others of course. But I just don’t have the energy to answer questions like “should we use Twitter or Jaiku?” anymore.

So for now, unless I can drive there in a day, I’m staying home. The leaves are starting to turn and I have to mow the lawn.

  • It's tough to know when to say when. I agree that the same old questions get old, but you're immersed in this stuff. It takes "the rest of the world" awhile to catch on. Your time is valuable (family time? priceless). But I think part of the pain is the cost of being ahead of the curve.

On Orlando Disney Store? My firm designed that. :-) Hope you had an enjoyable experience.

Funny enough, I blogged the same thing a few weeks ago!

Thanks again for coming down again for yet another BlogOrlando. If/when we do something next year you'll be invited :-)
