Our wonderful American media

The BBC reports on a marble factory in Vermont where workers produce one dozen headstones a week for fallen US servicemen and women.

Why don’t we see these sort of stories in the US?

Oh wait, another white woman went missing in Aruba..!!! Sorry.

Yeah, what was I thinking?

The myth of objectivity

One (of the many) faults of our mainstream media is that in its efforts to appear “balanced” it sometime (mostly) falls short in speaking truth to power.

So it is with great pleasure that I present DNC Chair Howard Dean, ripping CNN’s Wolf Blitzer a new one.

The network that ate its young

Jonathan “Clutch” Larsen has the inside scoop on the impending death of Air America Radio’s Morning Sedition.

MS was one of the few bright spots on the radio each morning and I made it a point to take as long as humanly possible to get into wherever I was going to hear as much of Mark and Marc as I could.

I honestly don’t know what I’ll be listening to next month. I can’t stand Imus anymore. NPR is boring. Stern is on Sirius. And local NYC talk radio is all right wing moonbats.

First Danny Goldberg replaces the always entertaining Rachel Maddow with Jerry Springer - who sounds like my grandfather complaining about the Reagan administration. Now this. Nice way to go to build an audience for a new radio network.

Tasteless PR Pitch of the Month

We have a winner!!!

It was only a matter of time…

e.l.f Cosmetics and their agency Think PR have truly stepped up to the plate with this little ditty….

e.l.f. Cosmetics would like to do as much as they can to provide relief to this devastating situation. Thousands of people are without any of their belongings. Although make-up is a secondary need, e.l.f. hopes to get people back on track. This is a small token, but it’s a start.

This would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.

Full atrocity here.

UPDATE: PR Newsire had the decency to remove the release. It’s still in their system here. A tip of the hat to Jeremy Pepper for the link.

Update II: Dave Black of Voce says it better than I can.
